Volumes entered the indoor climbing scene in the late 1980's in Europe. Entre Prises designer, Jean-March Blanche, sculpted and developed many of the early volumes. These early 3-D models started as one-offs built out of wood and some fiberglass. EP's first commercially available volumes hit the market in the early 90's in Europe, then mid 90's here in the U.S. Now textures are similar to our handholds and easily accomadate bolt on holds. 2010-10-08 |
