Entre Prises Climbing Walls developed the EPS™, Explosion Proof System, to prevent broken holds from exploding off the climbing surface. This can prevent serious head injury from falling handholds. Entre Prises was awarded a patent for this system on July 31st, 2007, number 7,250,020. The Explosion Proof System, EPS™, is the latest safety innovation from Entre Prises, the creator of the first commercial handhold. Built into the hold, this patented device minimized breakage without sacrificing the strength of the hold itself. EPS™ is a revolutionary new safety technology that greatly reduces the possibility that a broken piece of handhold will fall and strike someone.
